Combining elements of reggae soul, punk rock melodies, and alt rock riffs Private I have been spreading their messages of life, love, and the power of positivity throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania and Western Maryland since February 2011. Starting out in small bars and venues, the band steadily grew a loyal following playing a mix of vibe based jams and unique, fan favorites from musical heroes like Sublime, Prince, and Common Rider.
In early 2012, the band released a self titled 4 song EP showcasing a mix of ska punk along with their reggae rooted rock n roll-telling stories of lost love and life lessons before taking some much needed time for family in 2016.
The band re-emerged to play Somerfest in mid 2018, where they announced plans to make a new record. Rolling up their sleeves to write, record, mix, and master their aptly titled DIY effort "Better Late Than Ever", the trio released their debut full length in April of 2019.
With a fresh, new album and the Rasta Kat tribe buzzing with excitement, Private I are primed to bring their passion to audiences new and old and continue celebrating the connection between all of us with as much love as possible through their music!
