Hybrid – Unfaithful PARSFB005
Step into the DeLorean, fire up the flux capacitor, and travel back to 1998 on this episode of The Pennsylvania Rock Show Flashback. Host Bill Domiano reconnects with Matt Ferrante, formerly of Hybrid and currently involved in multiple projects across the independent music scene, to revisit a song that helped lay the foundation for both their shared history and the early days of the show. This episode takes listeners back to Substance, the 1998 release from Hybrid that became a backbone of the early Pennsylvania Rock Show era. Hybrid was the first band Bill ever worked with in the local music scene, making this flashback especially meaningful. Together, Bill and Matt dive into the story behind the song “Unfaithful,” exploring the writing process, recording sessions, studio environment, working with the producer, and the energy surrounding the band at that pivotal time.
The conversation then fast-forwards to the present, highlighting Matt’s continued evolution as a musician. The episode also features “Slow Down,” the newest track from A Common Crown, released January 21, 2026. Matt discusses how his songwriting and approach to recording have developed over the years, as well as what drives his current projects.
As always, the episode features both “Unfaithful” and “Slow Down,” connecting the roots of the late ’90s independent rock scene to today’s modern sound.
The Pennsylvania Rock Show Flashback travels through time with Bill Domiano as he revisits standout songs from the show’s history, reconnects with the artists behind them, and showcases where they are now in the music scene.
