The classic combination of catchy melodies, crunchy guitars, and a hard-driving rhythm section are the foundation of the KGB sound. KGB released their first full-length CD, Rock and Roll Dream, in June 2014. “Rock and Roll Dream” draws on the band’s extensive catalog of originals and showcases the diversity of the band’s sound. KGB will bang your head, shake your ass, and have you singing along in your car (it’s OK, no one is watching)… “Rock and Roll Dream” is available at iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, and other digital music sites. KGB is led by Bill Vulgris. Bill writes the songs, sings lead vocals and plays guitar. Bill is a veteran of the local music scene and is well-known for fronting his previous band Gibraltar and his current work with Amber-Alexis. Cliff Rose is Bill’s long-time partner in crime. Cliff has been playing bass and singing backing vocals with Bill since the 80s. Cliff’s running bass lines and vocals are a signature part of the KGB sound. Drummer Gregg Shotts moved to the Pittsburgh area from Detroit a few years ago and was looking for a project to join. Bill was looking to create a new venue for his originals and the die was cast. Gregg’s high energy drumming drives the KGB rhythm section. Gregg also plays drums for 90 Amp Fuse. Guitarist Garry Simmons is the newest member of band but is no stranger to Bill and Cliff, having recorded two Gibraltar albums and the Amber-Alexis album. Garry’s hard rocking blues-based style nicely compliments Bill’s country/roots rock sound. Garry is the resident mad scientist in the recording studio. KGB gives back to the community, playing many Rock For Life benefit concerts that raise money for sick children in the area.

This evolution was solidified by the recruiting of vocalist Jeff Cribbs from Pgh band Time Xpired. The difference in the band’s sound was immediate, and fans took notice. The band embraced this new stylistic journey with a real sense of urgency and immediately began to record their debut EP. In June 2001, Pittsburgh’s alternative-rock station 105.9 the X, premiered Camp Element’s first single, Maklin, on the air. Along with the lineup change came a refreshed and equally aggressive work ethic. “It’s like this,” says Cribbs, “We’re a family, a team, and we are all aiming for the same thing, that makes us that much more powerful as a group. There is nothing to stop us from spreading our message to as many people as we can. There are a million bands out there working toward the same goal that we are. We’ve just made up our minds to work harder.” With that in mind, Camp Element continues to tour independently, consistently secure opening slots for a variety of national acts, and spread their word throughout the listening world. Their sound cannot be compared to that of anyone currently in the music industry…..and people are taking notice!

Though Long Time Divided has only been playing for over two years, the wealth of musical knowledge that each member brings to the group gives the band a very polished hard rock sound. Each member’s distinctive style blends almost seamlessly with the others, whether it’s lead singer DJ Beckage belting out his style of grunge rock styled vocals mixed with very revealing lyrics or lead guitarist and pianist Bill Costello, with his haunting guitar riffs matched only by his melodic piano work. Rhythm guitarist Paul Terry brings an element of exuberance to the stage, which shows in all of his methodical guitar play. Bassist Bob Beveridge and Drummer Jason Slick form the bedrock of the band; Bob bringing his soulful intensity to the bass in tandem with Jason almost robotic-like precision to the drums. Long Time Divided has kept themselves grounded because they have never forgotten their roots and the people that have elevated them. With musical experience and peer accolades, Long Time Divided is now perched to succeed where many other bands before them have failed. Formed from five, they are Long Time Divided.
