Silk9 3QS005

The 3 Questions for Silk9 You have a new line up, what can you tell me about the new members? If you could live the movie rock star, which band would you join? If you can take the band to any city in the world and perform, as the band is now, where it would it be and why? The Song: I Won’t Carry You Simply put the song is about staying your path, regardless. It’s about separating yourself from those who will be nothing but dead weight. It’s about doing what you feel is best for you and what fulfills us. It’s about leaving those behind that would rather attempt to destroy your dreams rather than work to achieve them. About Silk9 SiLK9 is a Pittsburgh PA based hard rock band that was founded in April of 2013 by Anthony Leone and Jamie Rohr.  In May of 2014 the band released its first EP entitled “Exit the Pain.”  The Ep was released too much acclaim on the local and Tri-State scenes  with regular radio play on several local stations as well as internet radio received 6 Nominations in the “Iron City Rocks Music Awards” and nailed down the award for “Best Album of the Year  Songs from the EP have been featured on 97.7 Butler Pa, Adrenaline 101, 105.9 The X, 102.5 WDVE, The PARockShow.com, 107.5 The Eagle in Wheeling WV, also featured on Lou Lombardi’s Rock n Roll Circus. The song has already been featured on 105.9 The X as well as Big D’s House of Pain on Adrenaline 101.  September 12, 2016 Anthony Leone, Founder of SiLK9 signs a deal with RFL records  January 2018 the new EP “RETRIBUTION” was released. Featuring 5 tracks that are best described as Dokken on the melodic side meets Pantera on the heavy side.  5 high energy and flat-out aggressive tunes that will burn the soul and etch new depths into your Metal core; melody that stretches the heart and a heavy beat that ravages your mind.  A video for the first single, I don’t know, was aired on January 29th with promotional partner, BRAVEWORDS.com.  SiLK9 has worked with: Steel Panther, Lynch Mob, Adelita’s Way, The Art of Dying, Winger, Drowning Pool, Skid Row, Jake E Lee, Puddle of Mudd,  Winger, Warrant, The Reb Beach Project, Sebastian Bach , Dokken, Bullet Boys, Enuff Z nuff and Tantric SiLK9 has recently started tracking a new single and hope to have a release date soon!  The dawn of a new era launches and the thunder that is SiLK9 is set to take the hard rock world by storm. Brady Novotny 3QS003

The 3 Questions for Brady Novotny I read in your bio that your experience ranges from the experience ranges from the Pittsburgh rock scene to national tours, what was the coolest thing that has happened to you while you were on tour, and if you don’t mind name dropping, who have you toured with? Can you tell our listeners about how you got started playing guitar? I have a feeling that the story has a lot to do with your new release, Passions Collide. A lot of bands try to mimic each other, in your respective area, what makes you different from another band of your genre? – asked by Ricky Wells of Black Horizon – Episode 002 The Song: Passions Collide Passions Collide is an up-tempo, musically eclectic guitar instrumental. This song was birthed out of several of my musical passions like rock, flamenco, and jazz, thus creating a collision of my passionate styles. The main structure of the song is rock influenced. My goal was to take the listener on a musical journey, allowing him/her to experience singable (haunting) melodic lines while captivating the ear with flamenco sounds and strategically placed virtuosity. About Brady Novotny Brady Novotny started playing the guitar at the age of 10. Determined to be a world class guitarist, he left his first guitar lesson with his instructor telling him basically to give it up now. Thus he was introduced to criticism and disappointment early in his endeavor. Nevertheless, Brady heard a guitar player that would motivate him to push all that aside and re-engerize his passion to continue; that guitar player was Randy Rhoads. Brady soon fell in love with classical and melodic guitar playing. Brady practiced restlessly learning everything from classical pieces, melodic and virtuosic solos from 80’s guitar heroes, to jazz fusion. Brady loved the guitar, and truly, that has been his passion. He attended Berklee College of Music for a little time. At the age of 19, he was asked to teach summer guitar workshop at Duquesne University. As life often happens, however, Brady got burned out and went back to school and received his masters in Psychology. Yep, that’s right — Psychology. But the passion is back and stronger than ever, plus it never hurts to have some money! Brady set out to do an instrumental project that would have his listeners singing the haunting melodies while holding their attention by uniquely placed guitar virtuosity and dynamic rhythms creating a fusion of rock, flamenco, and jazz. His love for a variety of musical styles led him to study under many teachers in his life. Brady started out playing Classical guitar at the age of 10. Ever since then, Brady has had a strong affection for nylon string guitar sound. Ultimately, this led him to study Flamenco guitar. He immediately fell in love with the passion, virtuosity and rhythm of this style. The shred of the 80’s was one of his main influences and guilty pleasures, while Jazz was a big influence on Brady’s chordal choices and song color. Brady has a wide range of experience in the music business. His experience ranges from the Pittsburgh rock scene to national tours. He has worked as a Pittsburgh session guitarist, Worship leader, and guitarist at several mega churches. He has also taught guitar at clinics and universities.
