Emzy Enzy 3QS063

Caleb Straus of Emzy Enzy  First Angel Media joins the show to take his shot at 3 Questions (or so) and a song! Being from Austin Texas, how did you come to find First Angel Media? I see that you release music as both Emzy Enzy (as Leej, Legion) and also as Caleb Straus, how to you determine what song gets released as whom? If an apocalyptic event happened and only one of your songs survives to help re-populate the Earth, which song would it be and why? If Emzy Enzy could open for any band in the history of time, who would you open for, at what location, and why that band? What made you choose that heavy direction with your music? What made you stick with it over the years instead of picking a different direction? asked by Doug Carnahan on episode 62 About Emzy Enzy Genre: Experimental Metal Location: Austin, TX, USA Emzy Enzy is an experimental industrial metal band currently based in Austin TX, led by vocalist Caleb Straus (LEEJUN), and featuring Christopher Burch (KNUMERIC) on guitar and synth, and William Douglas (SPLATTERBRAIN) on bass. The band also incorporates elements of lounge, trip hop, trap metal, and black and death metal into their expansive and experimental sound. About the Song, Narcissistic Cyborg Narcissistic Cyborg is track one of the upcoming album, “KREM”, based on a fictional planet of the band’s making, “KREM” marks a departure from Emzy Enzy’s early experimental/industrial sound (which are still present but in the background), to make way for a far more present death metal and hardcore influence. Narcissistic Cyborg is track one on KREM, and the recent single “My Kindness” feat. Seethe is Track 2. We are drip releasing two albums simultaneously, “KREM” and “Beelzebourbon” which is a huge detour. Will discuss more details on the show. 🙂 Every month, you’ll get a new song from each album. 9 Stitch Method 3QS018

Three questions for Patrick McElravy – Episode 018 Do you think it is more difficult to play to a track and have to create it ahead of time, than it would be to play live? If I was flipping through my Social Studies page and found a page with 9SM on it, what would that page in history be about? How in the ever-loving hell can you run around that stage, and sing like that? The Song: Sleep “Sleep” was a really fun song to write and record. It was the last song written for the album, and almost never came to be. Josh had a different song written originally he wanted to bring to the table to round out the album. He then said “oh I have this other idea, but it prob doesn’t fit with what we are doing”; as soon as I heard the riffs he had going I said “that’s it!!! That’s the final track!!!” The song has alot of cool melodic parts and alot of really heavy dissonant stuff that makes a great contrast in dynamic. Lyrically the song is ironic of it’s title: “Sleep”. Its about the lack there of, the stuff that comes flooding in your brain at night when the day has wound down and you just get stuck in your head stressing.   About 9 Stitch Method Band Location: Pittsburgh, PA US Band Genre: Alternative Metal 9 Stitch Method are a 2 piece alternative metal from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
