It has also sparked its own concert series with season 2 starting on April 8, 2021. This season features Singer Songwriter Night, a Blues Night, a Jazz Night, and a Metal Night. We discuss Winter Descent’s new track, Fortune. We also talk about the community building that came out of the SOS 2020 project: being able to invite bands that weren’t necessarily involved in the song, involvement from places like First Angel Media. How the project brought about new relationships within the music scene. We also have a Pre-Show Podcast interview series that evolved from the project. Shoutout to Nightlife Line. 3 Questions for Bobby C & Eric of Royal Honey You guys recently got to play a few shows (pandemic effected their schedule), how did that feel? If they were to make a Rockumentary about Royal Honey, who would play each of you in the film? Ofilia, of the Band Areshenic from Episode 38, would like to know why are there no females in your band? About the Song, American Jive: American Jive was one of Royal Honey’s first original tunes and has been in their live set since the start of the band. It was written by Dave Musick and recorded by Jazz Byers for the Rattle Clack Compilation 2020. It was also included as a bonus track on Royal Honey’s first CD “Hype, Money And Misbehavior” which is available from their website, Bandcamp, and all major streaming outlets. In a year full of turmoil and disease, American Jive somewhat prophetically asks the audience “Are you glad to be alive?” About the Royal Honey: Where to find them: Location: Pittsburgh, PA, USA Genre: Swagg-n-Roll People ask all the time where the name Royal Honey comes from? Drummer Angelo Amantea says with his swaggitude “I just made it up…It’s what I do! I’ve been naming bands for years!” That’s not all they’ve been doing for years. Royal Honey brings together some of the best talent and experience in the rust belt region. The band has only been together since 2018, but its members go way back in the local steel city scene, having played renowned clubs like The Decade, Graffiti, The Electric Banana, 31st Street Pub, and Someplace Else regularly. They’ve also all played up and down the major east coast cities, prior to forming Royal Honey. These guys have been around the block a bunch of times. Coming from previous bands including The Dirty Charms, The Ultimatics, The Cheats, The Addicts, Lize, The Science Fiction Idols, The Cosmosonics, Child of Fire, Kill Bossa, Rainstation Zero and Gas Tiger, they’ve got the experience and pedigree to write great catchy songs and put on killer energetic shows! Guitarist Eric Rodger says “We’ve accomplished so much in just a short year and half, because we’re all contributing and pulling the same direction. Dave brings most of the song ideas, and we lay down the tracks with efficiency in the studio. Ang does almost all the artwork and flyers and books most of the shows. Greg’s in radio, so he’s our PR man, getting us press and interviews. I handle the studio mixing and merch, and making sure that everything we produce is top grade. And Bobby commands every crowd we play to like the master of ceremonies that he is! Because of this camaraderie, Royal Honey has released one CD and is already mixing the next one, just signed a recording contract with The Vault Records, and has played to hundreds of fans in major cities like NYC, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh.” Royal Honey’s sound has been described as part New York Dolls, part Guns N Roses. Their influences are abound, including The Stones, AC/DC, NY Dolls, Guns N Roses, Kix, The Cult and Faster Pussycat, with some Thin Lizzy guitars thrown in for good measure. Robbie Perrone of East End, Adrenaline 101 radio, & Endeavor After, LLC stopped by to talk about Gigaroo, East End, and his shirt business. We talked a little bit about Robbie quitting cigarettes and vaping. Robbie talks about how Bill convinced him to let Bill design his website. Robbie takes a moment to thank the bands that have already purchased shirts through his company. We talked about the Hellfire Club recording last week. Robbie talks about the honor of playing Rock for Life Concert Series shows and the charity. Make sure to mark yourself going on the Facebook Event. It was at this point that Robbie tells us that Gigaroo is officially the final East End peformance and Robbie announces that he is going to be in a Spice Girls tribute Band?!? Robbie talks about the fact that they never told the new guitarist that he was really part of the band. They also will have  fill in drummer for Gigaroo, Sean Melvin of Raising Mother Kane. Robbie talks about how celebrities should realize that they are there to entertain, not push political ideals. Bill also gave a shout out to Superheroes Believe in Miracles and their upcoming benefit concert on July 21st.

In segment 1: Erik Rhodes, from Shattered, joined to discuss many things in the world of Shattered including their up and coming Album, Blackout Sessions. We discussed the band the Art of Burning Bridges and a former band of some of the members, Fountain Infinity. We debut the song Love/Hate/Obsession on the show. We talk a bit about the song and how it is a “Shattered” version of a love song.  We talked about a show 10 and a half years ago 2/23/2007 when Shattered played live in my living room. We have 2 live tracks from that night in our archives. Erik talked about the recording process that they used for the Blackout Session album. He told us that they had already started writing this album before the last album, Rise of Hypocrisy was released, and that they had started recording the album in October 2014. He told us about some upcoming shows that the band and his acoustic project have coming up. Shattered is opening tomorrow, September 30, 2017 for Lacuna Coil at Diesel. Erik gave us some incite into his influences through telling us about his music collection. In segment 2: Erik told us about the acoustic track, Silhouette, off of the upcoming release, too. We talked a bit about country music!?!?!? We moved on to get Erik’s opinion on pay to play. We talked about what is good about our music scene and even something that Erik believes needs fixed about the scene. We talked about the quality of the musicians in the scene and the Rock for Life Concert Series, as well. I brought up the band Creep, who will be writing new music for the first time in years, you can get a digital copy of their last album by listening for a code in Episode 325 of the Pennsylvania Rock Show. We then discussed the different influences that may have affected the sound of the Blackout Sessions album. I then had Erik tell us his favorite song off of the new disc, his overall favorite Shattered Song, & his favorite cover to play. Erik brought up the band Deadman’s Hand that I’m trying to book, now.
